Advertising, keeping the paper afloat

About: This piece has been included in my portfolio because as the overseer of advertising, I feel my role in earning funds has been an essential piece to the paper. Not that I earned all the funds, but I assisted my editors in becoming successful in advertising sales as well. Nervousness was a huge roadblock with this years staff- this is how I eased it.

Online editing, training editors

About: This piece has been included in my portfolio because I have drafted a training document in regards to my online editors, and it has been very successful as a reference guide. By having training sessions with my editors I have been very successful in slimming the amount of errors within our online publication and creating a stress-free environment for the editors.

Stories need multimedia: photo stories

About: This piece has been included in my portfolio because photojournalism is an extremely important aspect to news, and an issue my staff has constantly met. The absence of a visual means the absence of a clear, truthful take on a story. Throughout this year I have worked hard with my staff to get a consistent flow of images, and our production has been increasingly smoother.
